PINK

PINK is a tantalising visual experience of painting, photography, sculpture and ceramics celebrating the colour pink. A colour of contradictions, pink has the potential to both calm and electrify, seduce and repulse. The artists in this group exhibition draw upon pink's plentiful and loaded associations. Youthful and fun, it is the colour of vibrant blooms, summer cocktails and confectionery. It is sensual, with connotations of sexuality and the body. Pink also carries with it a complex, gendered history across cultures, playing a significant role in the history of fashion and design. These themes converge in a rich medley of baby pink and blush; flamingo and fuchsia; terracotta and Turkish delight. PINK is a jubilant feast for the eyes.
