Paul O'Connor - Wild Cowboy Bandana - Silk cotton - 80x80cm - Limited edition of 20

This item is from Paul O'Connor's solo exhibition at Becker Minty titled Where the Wild Boys Are, held in April 2024.

To create the bandana, Paul collaborated with acclaimed fashion designer Aurelio Costarella. Of their collaboration, Paul says, "I have been best friends with Aurelio for 34 years. For 10 years, I managed all branding, marketing, publicity and wholesale for his brand. I admire what he contributed to the Australian cultural space during his career. I’m honoured to have the opportunity to collaborate on his new creative journey into homewares and textiles. Bandanas have always held a significant role in queer social communication, so I like the ‘wink’ to that."
