'Monuments' represents a significant development in Elliott Nimmo's art making practice. Moving away from any external references, the subject of these paintings has become the act of painting itself, what Elliott describes as "an obsessive interrogation of paint." These works were created over many days and weeks, representing the artist's pure creative expression and his passionate dedication to the discipline of abstraction.
