Create an accountMelbourne-born I have always loved, been fascinated by and surrounded myself with art, and have been painting informally for over 15 years. I am a mother of two sons and a practicing psychologist. I studied painting at VCA in 2016, which was the beginning of becoming a professional artist. I had the opportunity to be taught by established artists, and it was in a class with Ry Haskins that I came to love painting in the ‘hard-edge’ style. My own personal style has developed since then.
I like to explore connections and relationships within art as I do in life, and seek to represent those relationships through my painting. It is through the simplicity of clean lines, painting one side against another, that I seek to express the idea that we are all connected – all shapes, colours and sizes, united in a single space. This work usually incorporates wide variances of colour and their sometimes unusual relationships with each other. Human beings as in paintings carry this foot-print of the unique and wonderful. When painting in the monochromatic tones, their stark oppositions are a vivid reminder of divisions and separations. These differing pieces offer a statement about the dualities within the human spectrum.
