Jan Vogelpoel is a Melbourne based sculptor, born in the UK and raised in South Africa. She started her association with Becker Minty in 2020. Having worked with clay for over 20 years, her work carries a natural energy and reflects a love of organic shapes and graphic lines. Jan developed her skills under the direction of South African ceramicist, Barbara Jackson. Jan’s foray into pursuing sculpture and ceramics full time came in 2019 after 25 years working in graphic design, interior styling and art direction. Jan was a finalist for the Craft Victoria Awards in 2019 and also shortlisted in the 2021 Design Files x Laminex Awards in the handcrafted category.
