News & Events Dan Schneiger, Sculptor and Furniture Maker, Miami
Fact: Dan Schneiger is good with his hands. A studied architect applying his technical skills and creative mind to raw materials, hand-crafting his incredible and unique neo-brutalist pieces is what seduced Mr Minty when he first discovered Schneiger’s work in a New York gallery in 2016. He knew he had to have it. He contacted Schneiger to ask if he was interested in creating an exclusive collection for Becker Minty. Fast forward to August 2017 when Schneiger arrived in Sydney for the opening of his exhibition at Becker Minty.
“I’ll never forget my excitement when I walked into the courtyard in front of the gallery to see several massive crates marked: DAN SCHNEIGER - MIAMI. Jason, my husband and I, along with the staff at Becker Minty spent the day working together to hang the show and we immediately clicked. It’s been an amazing partnership ever since,” says Schneiger. “Becker Minty is a case study in good taste. Jason’s gallery is a concept store that brings together the best of art and design from around the world for the Australian market. Jason’s very distinct point of view regarding beauty, utility and even humor is evident in everything they offer.” Well, schucks. -

This latest collection explores ongoing themes of Relics, Nudes and Nature. Thomas' plasticity allows him to roam between the disciplines of drawing, painting and sculpture with a somewhat poetic collision.
A connection with culture, self, society and nature is evident through his experimentation and an unexpected use of materials.
It is his intention to mirror both beauty and chaos in the creation and destruction of nature within art.
