Pan appears in different guises as Waving Pan and Prancing Pan. He is God of the rustic wild representing virility and the season of spring, amongst many other things. The nymphs are his companions. HMS aims to develop the possibilities of the hand-drawn in creating work that is humanist and beautiful. It’s designs, in the form of graphic illustrations, range from dizzyingly intricate to simple and bold. Following in the tradition of Ruskin, Morris and Bauhaus, HMS Studio is dedicated to a renaissance of the decorative arts. With the belief that, seen through a contemporary lens, traditional theories of social responsibility, and the unification of art and craft are relevant. All work is made to the highest standard. Materials and labour are sourced with consideration for people and place.
