Sharon Collyer

Sharon Naomi Collyer is an emerging artist based in The Southern Highlands of NSW.

She has a Diploma in Colour and Design from ISCD, has studied sculpture with Tom Bass at The Tom Bass Sculpture School and drawing and watercolour painting at The Julian Ashton Art School and East Sydney Tech.

She has exhibited in solo and group exhibitions at Pittwater Gallery, The International School of Colour and Design, MCA and SHAC Robertson. She has also been selected for The Mosman Art Prize (1997).

She is currently exploring colour, line and texture in the style of abstract expressionism. Her work is experimental and multi layered in nature and includes the use of collage, sculpture, and botanical inks which she creates using Australian native materials.

Her work is influenced by the work of Cy Twombly, Turner, Diebenkorn, The Fauves and Joan Mitchell.
